Hello I’m Elisa. I am currently studying business at Doshisha university in Kyoto. My mom runs a Kumon class in Osaka and I used to work for her there. (To those who don’t know what Kumon is, it’s an educational network for young students who is from 3 to 18 and is a franchise model which has over 16,000 classes all over Japan) Therefore I often spent time with little kids teaching them how to spell, count and write and I loved it. But sadly, I had to move to Kyoto for university this spring and I needed to leave this job. I really wanted to keep having interactions with kids and that’s why I started to work for this program.
English has been my favorite subject since I was in elementary school. As my dream came true, I spent my junior year in Las Vegas, USA as a foreign exchange student. My host parents had a lot of grandchildren and I often got to babysit them. This is also why I love spending time with children.
I’ve been to New Zealand, USA, Canada and Spain before to study languages and everywhere I went, people were so nice and willing to help me when I needed help. When we are at somewhere we don’t know well, small little things can trigger a big insecurity. I want to erase those anxieties and help you have more amazing and fun experience in Japan with your family. I really am looking forward to see you guys and have fun together!!!
