10:00 am Head to the Railway Museum First
Third day. Let’s go on places for kids throughout the day. First, go to the Kyoto Railway Museum in Umekoji Park. It is a museum that everyone can enjoy regardless of whether they are familiar with trains. You can also get on the SL, and drive the train simulator! Facilities for kids, such as a nursing room and a kids park, are also available.
12:00 pm Lunch at Umekoji Park
The Kyoto Railway Museum sells Shinkansen lunch boxes. You can eat in the cafeteria in the hall, but if the weather is nice, I recommend having a picnic in Umekoji Park! When eating in the spacious open lawn, any lunch will be exceptional.
1:00 pm Kyoto Aquarium in the Afternoon
After having lunch, go to the nearby Kyoto Aquarium. A lot of giant salamanders, a special natural monument of Japan, welcome you. There are plenty of hands-on programs such as dolphin performances and feeding programs. There is no doubt that adults will be healed by lovely sea creatures.
3:00 pm Return to the Hotel? Play Near Kyoto Station?
If your kids are tired, return to the hotel now. If they are still fine, you can enjoy tea or shopping at Kyoto Station or Aeon Mall Kyoto. Kids may also enjoy seeing the tall staircase at Kyoto Station. It has a light show which is fun to watch.
6:00 pm Leave kids with Babysitter and Go Out for Dinner
Sometimes you might want to go for dinner with your partner, no kids. In that case, please use Kyoto with Kids Babysitting service. A professional babysitter will visit the hotel room. Parents should take this opportunity to enjoy Kaiseki cuisine unique to Kyoto.
